We are preparing to repaint our church at the end of September and beginning of October.
The new scheme of colors has been chosen by our Fabric comity. Light blue for the walls and gold for the sanctuary and around the windows. Pictures above represents the planed colors. Please keep in your prayers Joseph Smedley (RIP) whose funeral will take place on Monday 31 August 9.am. There is limited number of space in the church for the service that was given only to the family.
On 5th September, the Feast of St Mother Teresa, we’re having an online meeting to start making a difference in the lives of expectant mothers and their unborn children. You can register here As you know Mother Teresa was a great worker for the poor. She said that countries which allow abortion are “the poorest of the poor” In our Archdiocese, it’s women from the poorest areas who have the highest abortion rates. Official statistics show abortion rates for women deprived areas are twice as high than for people from the wealthy parts of town. It looks like women are being pushed into abortion by circumstances – 4,000 times a year in our Archdiocese Everybody probably has something to offer, so your help could take many forms:
Register for our online Zoom meeting here. We’ll hear from Sr Roseann Reddy who has been doing this work for 20 years. And then we’ll think how to do it ourselves: https://is.gd/PregnancySupport Paul Atkin Pro Life Office Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh 100 Strathearn Road | Edinburgh | EH9 1BB t: 0131 623 8917 e: [email protected] |
